Helpful post, though in 8.04 you need to double click on the volume control, click on Edit/Preferences, then check External amplifier to be visible. The switches tab then appears. Uncheck External amplifier in that tab. Worked for me anyway.

I’m going to have to agree with 12345, and with the way the dome sits in the ear, it certainly wouldn’t be stable enough to stay in the ear. Good concept, but the execution is a bit poor on the design front, especially since many people have issues with the domes staying in the ear canal itself. It just wouldn’t be able to be pushed in far enough and would most like constantly keep falling out.

Hmmm…I don’t think there’s much of a market for this. The population that has gauges is rather small, and the number of those folks who have hearing loss is even smaller. Not everyone with hearing loss wears hearing aids, so this would make the market even smaller. I would be surprised if a manufacturer could sell even 3 of these a year!
