@victor: I use memtest on the PC side all the time too. I'm not sure of an equivalent tool for the Mac yet.

Anyone have any suggestions?

yikes, i just bought a new MacBook Pro… as well as 4GB of RAM (2gb sticks x 2) from Crucial. I haven't run into any problems yet, but after reading your story, i'm now worried.

on the PC side, there is a memory testing program called “memtest” or something like that. Is there anything similar on the Mac side?
